Sarlongjon Teron

Sarlongjon Teron is a graduate of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, specializing in Climate Change and Sustainability Studies. Since 2018, he has been working with Aaranyak under the Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) Program, engaging with Indigenous Karbi communities in the foothills adjoining Kaziranga National Park. In 2016, he co-authored a book on the ten-year review of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) in India, analyzing its application in the Sixth Schedule areas of the Northeast. He also leads initiatives on eco-restoration and climate change mitigation through carbon credit-linked forest restoration in East and West Karbi Anglong.
